Periodic driving in Quantum System

Periodic perturbations over a physical system can be useful for a range of purposes including generation and control of particle flow or investigating the system's energy spectrum. Recent experimental advances in electronic and atomic systems have paved the way to explore the effect of periodic driving in the regimes of resonant, fast and strong driving. In the talk, after a brief introduction of the Floquet formalism, I will present some features of three driven systems: pumping in 1D channels, dressing of atomic states and band engineering in lattice models. I will discuss how the Floquet spectrum characterise the dynamics of each case and some of the challenges and opportunities offered by such models.
